Round and Round

Only one other exit was apparent in the treasure room, a door leading south.  Seglun tried the door but it was locked, so Varrid again attempted to disable the locking mechanism to no avail.  Seglun grabbed her last bottle of acid and poured it on the hinges and then with Baru's help, pulled the door from the frame.

Another hallway led to the south and then hit a wall.  Seglun marched forward and looked around.  She didn't find anything unusual in the hallway.  So Ralom decided to try his hand at perceiving a doorway.  At 10 feet into the hall the floor gave way and Ralom fell into a pit, the ceiling also gave way and a block of stone plugged the top of the pit and the hallway itself.
Seglun was on the south side of the block of stone while the rest of the party was still in the room to the north.   Baru and Drovic moved to the plug, while Varrid looked for a mechanism.  Seglun was trying to lift the plug without success.  After a short period Baru, Drovic, Grunyar and Seglun could lift the stone up whereupon Varrid found the mechanism to reset the whole trap.  Ralom, somewhat short of breath climbed out of the pit and the party marked the area.
Ralom now attempted to find any passageway out of the hall, and came upon a door to the south.  This door led into a vast rough stone cavern which ran from northwest to southeast.  There were cracks on the floor and water dripping somewhere.  A pool of liquid was ten feet in from the door.  To the east of the door was a somewhat rickety metal ladder leading up.  The top of the cavern soared some 35-40 feet overhead.  Seglun searched around part of the cavern while Varrid checked out the ladder which led to a door about 10-15 feet above the party's level.  When Varrid climbed up to the door she found it unlocked and easily opened.  It led into a hallway to the north.  In she went looking for traps and secret doors.  A hallway led west to a door which was locked.  Varrid unlocked this door with relative ease and entered another treasure room.  The rest of the party followed up the ladder.
In the treasure room were more gold and silver coins along with some magic items.  Ralom noticed a bag laying in the corner of the room, while Drovic said that two of the chests held magic items.
Varrid set to unlocking the chests while Seglun picked up the bag and tried to place a quiver of arrows into it.  They fit nicely into the bag, surprisingly.  Varrid found a set of six rubies, two rings, one of which was a ring of feather fall, and four potions of cure light wounds.  Seglun started to scoop the coins into the bag of holding.  The silver coins fit nicely, while she couldn't get a good purchase on the gold coins, they just kept slipping out of her hands as she tried to scoop them into the bag.  Ralom thought the coins may be an illusion but they certainly looked and felt real as he tried to grab a handful, but they slipped from his grasp.  Eventually Seglun just poured the chest of coins directly into the bag.
Finding no other exit from this treasury the party moved back into the hall, where Baru found the back of a door at the north end.  Opening the door revealed another cavern area, not as large as the previous cavern.  This one was barely ten feet high at the most, made of rough stone.  There were track marks down the center of the cavern leading from east to west and back again. Something had been dragged along the path.  Seglun headed to the west end of the cavern where she found many corpses stacked on top of each other.  The bodies had been mutilated, seemingly from torture.  Each body had a full head of red hair, along with green or brown garb.  Drovic came over to offer rest in death to his fellow Druids.  Back to the east where the cavern narrowed to a two foot wide hallway leading southeast.  This widened somewhat and headed south.  Eventually worked stone was obvious again and the back of a door was found.  This door led to the hallway around the torture chamber the characters had previously seen and entered.  No one was now in the torture chamber.  Ralom suggested that the party could head back to the treasure rooms again, "Maybe we can find the treasure anew!"  Seglun was more interested in the fact that they had left Brangain alone down the doorway to the lower prison cells and immediately tried to open the door to the stairs going down.  Varrid had to come up and finally open the door.  Whereupon Seglun led the party down again.
They were met by four Goblyns who fought a good fight but lost quickly to the force of the party.  The cells were all empty, except for some garbage laying on the floor.  Varrid opened the door that the north end of the prison area.  Seglun warned her to be careful of the traps.  After examining the already plundered treasure rooms, and study of the caverns the party ended up back at the torture chamber.

DM's Notes:  The party earned 457 XP for the night and now have 49642 XP.
